FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE: Norton and Robinson set Mansfield Mile Records at Shamrock Invitational

CONWAY, S.C. – Mansfield men's and women's mile records both fell on Saturday in Mike Robinson and Lauren Norton's outdoor track & field season debut at Coastal Carolina's Shamrock Invitational.

Robinson broke the 39-year-old men's mile record with an NCAA provisional time of 4:10.28 to finish second overall in the event. The senior's time shattered the previous record of 4:18 set by Thomas Deritis in 1975.

Norton registered a program record in the women's mile with a NCAA provisional time of 5:00.84. Norton's time was good for a fourth place finish in the event.

Michaela Lambert hit a pair of PSAC marks in the 100m and 400m dashes this weekend. Lambert turned in a time of 12.55 in the 100m and 56.53 in the 400m, which was just 0.53 seconds off an NCAA provisional time.
