FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE: Jones Wins Huskie Invitational; Men's Cross Country Tops Field
BLOOMSBURG –
Jesse Jones won the men's race to lead the Mountaineers to a first place finish at Bloomsburg's Huskie Invitational Saturday morning.
Destiny Foster led the women's side as Mansfield took second as a team.
Jones bested the field by 11 seconds, turning in a time of 27:03 in the 8K race.
Ben Drexler was the next fastest finisher for the Mountaineers, finishing fourth at 28:22.
Shakim Blackwell was sixth at 28:59 with
Carson Ayers finishing seventh at 29:07 as the Mountaineers placed four runners in the top 10.
Foster was the top finisher for the MU women at fifth with a time of 23:55.
Destiny Parks was just behind Foster, taking sixth at 24:04.
Kirsten Anderson turned in a 10
th place finish at 25:11 while
Sarah Morin was 11
th at 25:24.
Saturday's meet was the final regular season race before the Mountaineers host both the ECAC Division II Championships and the PSAC Championships at Lamb's Creek Cross Country Course. ECAC's are set for Oct. 26 and PSAC's for Nov. 8.
