FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE: Mountie soccer falls at Bloom 3-1

BLOOMSBURG – Jessica Allen scored her first goal of the season but it wouldn't be enough as Bloomsburg downed Mansfield 3-1 in PSAC women's soccer action Saturday afternoon.

Bloomsburg to goals from Jenna Fisher in the 17th minute and Allie Camp in the 25th minute to take a 2-0 lead before Allen launched a shot from the top of the box that went high over the goalies outstretched hands in the 30th minute.

Bloomsburg led 2-1 at halftime and increased the lead to 3-1 twelve minutes into the second half on a goal by Tara Huber.

Mansfield had a number of chances late in the game including shots on goal from Danielle Lentz and Jessica Kerwin but both were stopped by Bloomsburg goalie Danielle Fiorelli.

Bloomsburg held an11-7 advantage in shots on goal.

Sarah Nezelek had seven saves for Mansfield while Fiorelli recorded five for Bloomsburg.

Mansfield will host Goldey-Beacom in the Mountaineers first-ever home night game this Wednesday.
