FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE: Mountie Women Place 2^nd at Don Cathcart Invitational, Men take 5th

SALISBURY, MD – Junior Kristy Scordino placed first overall in the women's race with a school-record time of 21:30 to pace the Mountaineers to a second place team result at the Don Cathcart Invitational . With 85 team points, the Mountaineers were edged out for first place by host Salisbury by just one point.

Junior Savannah Boucher came in fourth at 22:04 while senior Kait Chegwidden finished 13^th at 23:11. Amy Lee finished 27^th at 24:02 while Kristen Von Bevern finished 49^th to round out Mansfield's top five.

Jesse Jones led the way for the men with an 11^th place finish as the Mountaineers came away with a 5^th place team result. Six of seven athletes on the men's side ran personal bests.

Alex Beard took 42^nd at 27:27 while Jake Shedden finished 64^th at 28:14 and Jordan Boothe finished 67^th at 28:19.

The Mountaineers are back in action on Saturday, Oct. 13 for the Gettysburg Invitational.
