FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE: Mountie Women Place Three in Top Five at LHU Invite; Men Take Seventh

LOCK HAVEN – Juniors Jess Scordino, Kristy Scordino and Savannah Boucher all posted top five times to lead the Mansfield University women's cross country team to a third place team finish at the LHU Invitational Saturday morning. Sophomore Jesse Jones paced the men's team with an eighth-place finish while the Mountaineers finished seventh as a team.

“I'm really pleased with today's times” said head cross country coach Mike Rohl. “Overall they're doing very well and we're improving each week.”

Jess Scordino set a personal best time of 21:47.2 to lead the Mountaineers and place second overall. Kristy Scordino was just 15 seconds away from a personal best with a 22:12.60 which was good for a 3^rd place finish. Boucher rounded out Mansfield's top three with a fifth-place finish at 22:44.00.

Senior Kristen Von Bevern set a PR with a time of 25:49.10.

Jesse Jones, Will Mullen, and Jordan Boothe all set personal bests in the men's 8K race. Jones finished with a 26:03.50 while Mullen and Boothe finished with a 27:26.20 and a 29:22.20 respectively.

Mansfield is back in action on Saturday, Sept. 29 for the Don Cathcart Invitational in Salisbury, M.D.
