Mansfield falls to Edinboro 4-1 on Senior Day
MANSFIELD –
Alexis Getty scored her first career goal and the Mountaineers outshot Edinboro, but it wouldn't be enough as Mansfield fell with a final score of 4-1 on Senior Day Saturday afternoon.

Kaitlyn McBride were all honored in a senior day ceremony.
Edinboro (12-3-2, 9-3-2 PSAC) recorded two early goals on a Karisa Fernandez header in the third minute and a Liz Debo score in the ninth. Jenna Madison was credited on the assist on the first goal while Fernandez earned the assist on the second.
The Fighting Scots' 2-0 lead held up until halftime despite Mansfield (3-12-2, 1-11-2 PSAC) holding a 12-7 shot advantage in the half.
In the second half, Getty scored her first career goal at the 52:22 mark with a shot from 15 yards out to cut Edinboro's lead to 2-1. The redshirt freshman had three total shots in the game with two going on goal.
However, the Scots would go on to score goals in the 71
st and 78
th minutes to come away with the 4-1 victory.
Mansfield held a 23-19 shot advantage in the contest with shots on goal tied at 11 apiece. Both teams took four corner kicks each in the game.
All but two Mountie field players who entered the game recorded a shot with
Kelsey Chapman and
Karyn Anselmo leading the team with four each.
Meghan Kelly recorded 10 saves in the contest for Edinboro.
The Mountaineers finish the season with three overall wins, 12 loses and two ties. Mansfield finished with a PSAC record of one win, 11 loses and two ties.
