MANSFIELD – The Mountaineer soccer program ended their season with a 4-0 loss to nationally-ranked Kutztown University Saturday during the program's senior day honoring Kariann Breed and Neele Hoerner.

Breed and Hoerner were honored in pregame ceremonies by their teammates, friends, family and coaches with gifts and framed action posters of themselves.

Kutztown opened the scoring early with a goal by Janine Valerio just five minutes into the game. Valerio's opportunity came from a right-to-left pass from teammate, Tess Arbegast. Kutztown continued to pile unassisted goals up in the first half with two goals from Megan Black and one from Bella Jaffin.

The Golden Bears outshot Mansfield 41-4 with 19 of them being on goal. None of Mansfield's shots were on goal. The closest opportunity Mansfield had was a cross pass from Hoerner to an open Breed where she then placed the ball almost in the top of the net but unfortunately hit the crossbar.
