MANSFIELD – Paige McDowell scored three goals and Mercyhurst recorded four second half goals to beat Mansfield 6-0 in a PSAC women's soccer game Saturday afternoon.
Despite the score, Mansfield played a spirited first half putting five shots on goal to Mercyhurst's nine in the first 45 minutes.
Erika Moyer and
Kariann Breed each recorded two shots in the first half.
Mansfield, playing its second conference game in as many days and its third game in the past four days, couldn't hang with Mercyhurst in the second half as the Lakers scored four goals and outshot Mansfield 16-0 in the game's final 45 minutes. McDowell scored all three of her goals in the second half.
Also scoring for Mercyhurst (4-1) were Renai Medieros, Sara Hawksworth and Perrin Kem.
Samantha Deliere recorded nine saves in goal for Mansfield with Rachel Griepsma being credited with three saves for Mercyhurst.
Mansfield (1-3, 0-2 PSAC) travels to Millersville on Wednesday.
