FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE: Leah Fuerst scores first collegiate but Mansfield falls at Shippensburg 5-1 in PSAC Women's Soccer

SHIPPENSBURG – Freshman Leah Fuerst scored her first collegiate goal off a penalty kick to tie the game in the first half but Shippensburg (7-2-1, 4-2 PSAC) proved too much in beating the Mountaineers 5-1 in a PSAC contest Saturday afternoon. 

Shippensburg's Katie Leverentz scored her first goal of the game eight minutes into the contest before Mansfield was awarded a penalty kick and Fuerst put it into the net to tie the score at 1-1 in the 21st minute. 

But Mansfield struggled to generate its offense getting off seven shots to Shippensburg's 19 in the contest. Kariann Breed had three of those shots for the Mountaineers. 

Shippensburg to two goals from Leverentz and Brittany Hibshman. 

#Samantha DeLiere) recorded five saves in goal for Mansfield while Megan Delio and Shelbie Rackley combined for three saves for Shippensburg. 

Mansfield (1-7-1, 0-6-1 PSAC) host Slippery Rock this Wednesday.
