FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE: Sam Deliere and Mountie defense hold strong against Clarion's offense in a 0-0 tie
CLARION, PA – Samantha Deliere recorded seven saves as her and the Mountaineer defense held Clarion to a scoreless game Saturday afternoon.
The Mansfield offense only had two chances to score with both of their shots coming in the first half from Jackie Karlovich and Kariann Breed. The Mountaineers forced Clarion to use over half of their entire roster in hopes of putting a goal up on the board with using only their 11 starters. Clarion had eight substitutions come into the game out of their roster of 28.
Clarion sent seven shots at Deliere in the first half, eight in the second half, three in the first overtime period and one shot in the second overtime period totaling 19 shots.
Clarion's Jenna Kulik recorded two saves. Clarion had 19 corner kicks while Mansfield had two.
Mansfield travels to Bloomsburg University on Tuesday, October 19 for a 5 pm game.
