Mansfield Basketball to Hold Canned Food Drive for Wednesday Home Opener #GiveBackMU

MANSFIELD – The Mansfield University men's and women's basketball programs will hold a canned food drive on Wednesday, Nov. 29 for the home opener against Roberts Wesleyan at Decker Gymnasium.

Tip-off is set for 5:30 p.m. for the women and 7:30 p.m. for the men.

Fans who bring a canned food item on Wednesday will receive $2 off the price of admission to attend the doubleheader. The regular price of admission is $5 for adults and $3 for children. MU students are free with university ID.

All donated non-perishable food items will be donated to the Mansfield Area Food Pantry that supports local families in need. The food drive is being held in conjunction with the Department of Athletics #GiveBackMU campaign.

GiveBackMU is a month long focus on how the Mansfield University Department of Athletics and its student-athletes support the local community with charitable acts and volunteerism. The culmination of the GiveBackMU campaign is on Tuesday, Nov. 28 when Mansfield holds a special Day of Giving in association with the global Giving Tuesday movement.

Alumni, supporters, and friends of Mountaineer Athletics are kindly asked to make a gift on the Nov. 28 Day of Giving to help provide opportunities for Mansfield student-athletes and further the mission of the university. 100% of gifts given through Mansfield's secure online portal are tax deductible.
