FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE: Mansfield baseball jumps up to No. 7 in NCBWA Atlantic Region poll

MANSFIELD – Mansfield moved up three spots to No. 7 in this week's National Collegiate Baseball Writers Association (NCBWA) Atlantic Region poll released today.

Mansfield improved to 8-3 on the season with a pair of wins over Clarion and moved up from the No. 10 spot on last week's poll.

The poll saw some significant changes from last week with East Stroudsburg taking over the No. 1 spot from Mercyhurst and Kutztown falling from No. 2 last week to No. 6 this week.

Four of the 10 teams in the poll compete in the tough PSAC East in East Stroudsburg (No. 1), Millersville (No. 3), Kutztown (No. 6) and Mansfield (No. 7). Another PSAC East team, West Chester, dropped out of the poll after being ranked No. 5 last week.

Mansfield travels to Wilmington (DE) for a doubleheader on Tuesday before opening the PSAC East season with a home doubleheader against Millersville (16-4) on Friday. The Mountaineers travel to Millersville on Saturday.
