Mounties Baseball Ranked 10th in Atlantic Region
MANSFIELD – The Mansfield University baseball team ranks 10th in the latest NCAA Division II Atlantic region weekly poll released today by the NCBWA.
The Mountaineers were ranked 8th in the NCBWA pre-season poll before opening their season with nine games in Florida.
Mercyhurst tops the regional rankings receiving five first place votes followed by Kutztown, East Stroudsburg, West Virginia St., West Chester, Lock Haven, California, Slippery Rock, Millersville, and Mansfield. The Mounties are 1-0 against regionally ranked teams, beating Slippery Rock in a 3-2 decision on Saturday in Lakeland, Florida.
While in Florida, Mansfield found success on the mound in pitchers

Dylan Woodworth led Mansfield in hitting with a .375 batting average, recording nine hits and reaching home five times. Sophomore
Seth Tressler used his speed to his advantage, stealing six bases and recording seven runs against opponents.
The Mountaineer's home opener is scheduled for this Friday in a doubleheader against Clarion University at Shaute Field. First pitch is scheduled for 1:00 pm.
