Mansfield Athletics

Bob Vagonis was a four-year starter on the football team from 1977-80. A defensive back, Vagonis still holds the Mansfield record for career interceptions with 20 and is one of just three players to be selected to All-PSAC honors four times.

As a freshman in 1977, Bob led the team in interceptions with four for 109 yards including a touchdown. In 1978, he was fourth on the team in tackles with 65 and had a team-best five interceptions for 29 yards.

During his junior season in 1979, Bob was third on the team in tackles with 55 and had a team-leading six interceptions for 15 yards. In 1980, he was fifth on the team in tackles with 40 while picking off five passes.
