Jason Manwaring played two seasons for the Mountaineers in 2002 and 2003, establishing himself as one of the most prolific hitters in Mansfield baseball history.
In 2002, Manwaring delivered one of the greatest offensive seasons in program history, belting a then-Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference record 23 home runs and driving in 79 runs. Both totals remain Mansfield single-season records to this day. He led the NCAA in both categories that season while helping guide the Mountaineers to the PSAC East title and a berth in the NCAA Regional Championships.
For his historic 2002 campaign, Manwaring earned First Team All-PSAC, All-Eastern College Athletic Conference, and First Team All-American honors. He was also named the 2002 National Collegiate Baseball Writers Association North Atlantic Region Player of the Year, cementing his legacy as one of the most dominant players in Mansfield baseball history.
