Fisher, a native of Milton, PA, was an infielder for the Mountaineers from 1973-76. Fisher was the second baseman who last played beside, and later replaced, former major leaguer Tom Brookens at MU. He captained the '76 Mounties that won the PSAC and ECAC Championships and finished second in the NCAA Regional Championship. During that season, Fisher batted .398 and was drafted by the Boston Red Sox, for whom he played two seasons in the minor leagues.
