Why did you choose Mansfield University?
I initially chose Mansfield because they offered Travel & Tourism under a Business major, which was important to me. I was really drawn to the fact that it was affordable, and at the Division II level for sports, which provided an awesome balance between academics and athletics. Once I got on campus, the atmosphere was very family-oriented, and it immediately felt like my home away from home. That was the moment that I knew it was a great fit for me!
What makes Mansfield University special to you?
Mansfield will always be a home to me.There are so many good people here that are passionate about advocating for Mansfield and helping students to become successful in life beyond graduation. This university, the people I met, and the experiences I went through helped shape me in to who I am today. Lastly, having my daughter is the absolute best thing to happen in my life, and she would not exist if my path did not take to me to Mansfield to meet my amazing husband!
How did your experiences at Mansfield University benefit your career/personal life following graduation?
Mansfield has become my home again as I am the Head Field Hockey Coach. To be able to come back to my alma mater was a professional goal and aspiration of mine, and I am very fortunate to have been awarded this opportunity. I met my husband here along with some of my closest friends, which has completely altered my life in the best ways! Now I get to give back to a place that gave me so many amazing blessings and opportunities, and for that I am forever grateful.
Favorite memory at Mansfield
Making it to playoffs for the first time in program history will live with me forever, because that was a BIG milestone for our program. But some of the best memories are the ones that were created with my teammates in college, and also in my capacity as a coach now.
Advice you would give to a current Mansfield student-athlete
Always have pride and respect for the name that is on the front of your jersey; you are a direct representation of it 24/7. Be humble and grateful for the opportunity that you were given to be a collegiate athlete. Only about 7% of high school athletes go on to play in college. Lastly, always remember: Actions speak louder than words.
