He was the first Mountaineer to earn All-American status and to be named the NCAA Division II Scholar-Athlete of the Year.

DiFilippantonio started every football game of his career, playing center during his sophomore season and guard as a junior before earning All-PSAC 1st Team honors as a senior. He also played linebacker on defense. The 1967 team was considered the Mountaineer's best team since Mansfield won its final state championship in 1946.

A four-year starter on the women's basketball team, Uhrich was a 1st Team All-PSAC East selection in both her junior and senior seasons and was named the PSAC East Player of the Year for the 2006-07 season. Uhrich was a key player on both of Mansfield's only two PSAC playoff appearances. She ranks fifth in school history in career scoring with 1,241 points and third in rebounds with 866.

Watts was a four-year letter winner at linebacker, earning 1st Team All-PSAC as a senior and 2nd Team honors as a junior. Watts was a three-time PSAC East and ECAC South Defensive Player of the Week selection and was a 1990 Pre-Season All-American selection by two separate national publications.
