FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE: Bell picks up back-to-back PSAC East Athlete of the Week honors

LOCK HAVEN – Sophomore Joe Bell has been named Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference (PSAC) Athlete of the Week for the second straight week after leading the Mansfield University men's basketball team to a 1-1 weekend at the Winter Park, Fla. Rotary Tangerine Tournament.

Bell scored a game-high 26 points and pulled down eight rebounds in the opening game of the tournament as the Mountaineers were edged by Rollins College 71-61 this past Saturday. The 6-foot-6 forward connected on 10-of-16 shots from the field and was 6-of-9 from the free throw line.

Bell recorded his fourth double-double of the season and extended his double-digit scoring streak to 26 games after netting 12 points and grabbing 10 boards in a 56-54 win over Flagler College the following day. He was selected to the All-Tangerine Tournament team for his performance in both outings.

Mansfield is 3-6 overall on the season and holds a 1-4 PSAC mark. The Mountaineers travel to Mercyhurst University and Gannon University for PSAC crossover action this Friday and Saturday.
