LOCK HAVEN – Junior forward Brianna Velepec has been named the Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference (PSAC) West Field Hockey Athlete of the Week after leading the Mountaineers in a 4-1 upset over No. 7 Kutztown Saturday afternoon at Spaulding Field.

Velepec recorded two goals and an assist in the victory over the Golden Bears. It marked the second straight game that Velepec has notched two goals and an assist.

Velepec has led the Mountaineers offensively this season scoring five goals while recording two assists for a total of 12 points. The junior has 10 shots with seven on goal for a .700 SOG% and has scored game-winning goals against St. Michael's and Kutztown.

The Mounties open PSAC West division play Tuesday at IUP. Gametime is slated for 4 p.m.
