MANSFIELD – Mansfield University standout
Kate Pratt has been named to the 1st Team Capital One Academic NCAA Division II All-District Softball Team for District 2.
The national All-District teams were announced today after voting by the district sports information directors.
The Academic All-District teams are divided into eight geographic districts across the United States and Canada.
To be eligible for consideration for the Capital One Academic All-District teams, a student-athlete must have at least a 3.30 cumulative grade point average out of a possible 4.0, be at least a sophomore, and a starter or key reserve.
First-team Academic All-District ® honorees advance to the Capital One Academic All-America® Team ballot, where first-, second- and third-team All-America honorees will be selected later this month.
A sophomore this season, Pratt helped the Mountaineers to a 20-15 record this season and was recently named to All-PSAC Central 1st Team honors.
An elementary education major, Pratt has a 3.84 cumulative GPA and led Mansfield in batting with a .379 batting average. She also topped the Mountaineers in home runs with a school-record 10 and runs batted in with 42.
Pratt ranked among the conference leaders in seven different categories including second in slugging percentage (.776), third in doubles (14), fourth in RBIs (42), sixth in home runs (10) and seventh in total bases (90). As a pitcher she allowed the fifth lowest opponent batting average (.224) in the PSAC. She was named PSAC Central Pitcher of the Week twice and Player of the Week once during the season.
