FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE: Pratt Named to NFCA 1st Team All-Region honors – sophomore now eligible for All-American consideration

STARKVILLE, MS – Mansfield University standout Kate Pratt was selected to 1st Team All-Atlantic Regional honors in voting conducted among the members of the National Fastpitch Coaches Association (NFCA) and released today.

Pratt, who was named to 2nd Team All-Regional honors by Daktronics yesterday, was selected at utility player/pitcher in voting among the coaches.
A sophomore, Pratt led Mansfield in batting with a .379 batting average. She also topped the Mountaineers in home runs with a school-record 10 and runs batted in with 42.

Pratt also led the team in wins with a 7-5 record on the mound. She started 12 of 16 games she appeared in the circle with a 2.57 ERA. In 73.2 innings pitched, Pratt struck out 61 batters while issuing just 17 walks.

Pratt ranked among the conference leaders in seven different categories including second in slugging percentage (.776), third in doubles (14), fourth in RBIs (42), sixth in home runs (10) and seventh in total bases (90). As a pitcher she allowed the fifth lowest opponent batting average (.224) in the PSAC. She was named PSAC Central Pitcher of the Week twice and Player of the Week once during the season.

Pratt was earlier named to All-PSAC Central First Team and Capital One Academic All-District honors.

As a 1st Team NFCA selection, Pratt becomes eligible for NFCA All-American ballot along with the 1st Team selections from the eight All-Regional teams.
