FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE: Jess Scordino hits NCAA provisional qualify mark in the 5000 at Princeton

PRINCETON, NJ -- Jess Scordino provisional qualified for the NCAA Division II Outdoor Championship by running a 17:12.10 time in the 5000 meters at the Larry Ellis Invitational at Princeton Friday night.

Scordino, who better her previous personal best in the event by 43 seconds, finished third in her heat with the second fastest time in school history.

Mike Robinson was close to hitting a provisional qualifying time in the 1500 with a time of 3:54.63 while Scordino's twin sister Kristy hit a time of 4:43.98 in the women's 1500.

Also Friday evening, Elley Trubic qualified for the javelin at the upcoming PSAC Championship.
