MANSFIELD – Who needs Florida? A month before the Mansfield University baseball team is scheduled to make their annual spring trip down to the sunshine state, the Mountaineer pitching staff made their way outside for a portion of their practice. Ironically enough, the Mountaineers Florida spring trip destination is a town named “Winter Haven”.

A few of the hurlers got a head start on their tans as the Mounties played long toss, stretched, and did some conditioning drills in the 55-degree weather.

Mansfield opens up the 2012 campaign when the Mounties travel to Greer, SC for a doubleheader against Bluefield State.
