Mountaineer Basketball Hosts Kutztown Wednesday

MANSFIELD -  The Mansfield University men's and women's basketball teams will host PSAC East rival Kutztown University Wednesday night at Decker Gymnasium. Tip-off for the women is at 5:30 with the men's at 7:30.

At halftime of both games, three lucky Mansfield University students will be selected to grab as much cash as they can in the Money Booth! The participants will be able to earn as much as $500 in the booth.

Fans not able to attend Wednesday's games can follow the action live with the sultry sounds of Shane Wilber of ESPN Radio and with live stats, both available on GoMounties.com.

The Mountie women enter tomorrow's game holding a 6-10 overall mark and a 3-9 PSAC record.

Mansfield is led by senior Mallory Moore, who leads the conference in scoring (18.3) and steals (3.3). With 1,351 career points, Moore sits just 28 points away from moving past Paula Olesky (1983-86) for 2nd in program scoring history. The 6-foot guard/forward is just 18 rebounds away from passing Glenda Oswald (1989-92) for 5th in career rebounding and 44 steals from passing Courtney Brooks (2004-08) for second in career take-aways.

Junior Julia Stevenson has scored in double-figures in 13-of-16 games this season while averaging 12.6 points and 6.4 rebounds per contest. Sophomore Jena Matter is averaging 8.9 points and 6.1 points per game while freshman Marrysa Moyer is averaging 7.6 points a game.

The two-time defending PSAC East champion Mountie men are also 6-10 overall and 3-9 in the PSAC.

Junior Chuck Harper leads Mansfield in scoring with 14.6 points per game and has scored in double-figures in all but three of his 14 games played this season. Joe Bell, who has been named PSAC East Freshman of the Week four times this season, is second on the team in scoring with 13.8 points per game while averaging a team-best 6.7 rebounds per game.

Five other Mounties are averaging at least 8.1 points per game in senior Josh Dupuy (8.1), junior Cory Henneghan (8.2), and sophomores Charles Becoats (8.1), Kyle Bradley (8.7) and Kevonte McClain (9.3).
