Mounties capture six first place finishes at Susquehanna Orange & Maroon Classic

SELINSGROVE – Freshman
Olivia Lopes took first in the 60 and 200 meter dashes as Mansfield caputured six first place finishes at the Susquehanna Orange & Maroon Classic Sunday afternoon.
Lopes, who set a new school record in the 60 meters in her first collegiate meet at the Golden Flash Gala at Kent State in December, posted the second sub-eight second time in the 60 in school history with a 7.97 timing at Susquehanna finishing more than .20 a second better than the next competitor.
She also took first place honors in the 200 with a winning time of 26.58, .25 better than the next finisher.
Also posting first place showings were freshman
Bob McCoy who took first in the 400 meters with a time of 52.05 more than second and a half better than the second-place finisher. Senior
Kevin Cusworth was the first collegiate runner to cross the finish line in the mile run with a time of 4:30.87 with freshman teammate
Will Mullen finishing third at 4:37.87.
Jake Shedden took first in the 3000 meters with an impressive 9:04.27 showing.
The women's distance medley relay team of
Susan Learn,
Bethany Wigfield,
Kristy Scordino and Kait Chewidden ran away from the field with a winning time of 12:59.35.
Taking second-place finishes were freshman Jackob Nance in the high jump (6-00),
Kristy Scordino in the 800 meters (2:33.08) and
Kait Chegwidden in the 3000 11:17.13.
The men's 4x400 relay team of Maxwell Lalwani, Robert McCoy,
Brandon Bedient and
Michael Leiwant took third with a time of 3:39.61.
