Bob Vallone Joins Mansfield Sprint Football Staff as Running Backs Coach
MANSFIELD – Mansfield University head sprint football coach, Dan Davis, announced the addition of Bob Vallone as running backs coach for the Mountaineers.
Vallone has been coaching football at the collegiate and high school level for 22 years. His collegiate experience includes stints at Division I and II colleges as well as being the offensive coordinator at a college all-star game.
For the last two seasons, Vallone was the assistant running backs coach at Division I FCS Winston-Salem State University. During his time with the Rams, Vallone was responsible for instruction of position players for practices and games as well as making game-day adjustments on offense.
Before accepting the Mansfield position, Vallone was the offensive coordinator and quarterbacks coach at the All-American Bowl College All-Star game held in Charelston, West Virginia in 2010.
From 2002-2008, Vallone was an assistant football coach at Division II Clarion University. While at Clarion, Vallone coached line backers, wide receivers, running backs, tight ends, and quarterbacks over his six seasons.
Vallone started his coaching career as an assistant football coach at Elk County Christian and Johnsonburg high schools from 1988 to 1997. After five seasons as an assistant at Johnsonburg high school, Vallone was promoted to the role of head football coach.
Vallone's playing experience includes the University of Akron and Edinboro University as well as participating in training camp with the Dallas Cowboys.
Mansfield sprint football holds its first practice Thursday September 2 and kicks-off its season against Cornell University September 18th at Karl Van Norman Field.
